With Flavia Aetia's help, Attila has seized control of the Huns. But he is not the ally she hoped he would be. In teaching him how to navigatte space without the assistance of the Priests, she has enabled him to sack dozens of worlds belonging to the Roman Orbis, including her own home. During his exile from the Huns, Atilla was able to obtain the locations of many of these worlds, and he is determined to see them all burned. In shock over his attacks, Flavia refuses to see Attila. In an attempt to help her grieve, he relents and allows her to visit the ruins of her home. What she finds there shocks her. Her parents still live, and her father has regained governorship of their world. But she is declared a traitor, and accused of selling out the Orbis. Her own father will see her executed for treason. Her only hope is that the Huns will come for her if Attila receives no word. But upon arriving he will find an entire Legion of Roman ships waiting. |
